What Are the Different Foundation Repair Types?
Common methods of repairing foundations vary according to the type of foundation you have. At Ramjack we repair pier and beam foundation when there is error like moving or settling foundation.
The Foundation Repair Methods
Steel Piers
These supports are usually used to fix foundations because they are long-lasting and durable. When making repair, they can also be installed very deeply in the soil. This is important when dealing with repairing foundations. These piers are extremely robust and are usually mounted at a depth of about 22'-23.' That's why in Oklahoma they are commonly used. Contrary to pressed pilings of concrete that use plates that are fed to the ground for about 8-10, steel piers are basic methods of repair which should be pushed to the ground very far. While the most popular methods of foundation repair are discussed, steel piers are often installed under foundations, as are steel shims. You must install them all the way down to the basement point.
Concrete Piers
These pilings are often used for the fixation of foundations because they are solid base supports. The methods used for foundation repairs in Oklahoma City are concrete piers and steel supports because they are reliable. Basically, the concrete shapes are pre-cast, approx. 6" in diameter and 8-10" in length, and when repairing. This is why firms use them. Concrete piers are drilled into the floor hydraulically and mounted under the foundation. Contractors push those concrete structures as far as possible to their full weight carrying load, commonly referred to as the point of refusal.
Polyurethane Foam
Slab repair is simplified by polyurethane foam of high density. Fundamental repair technicians inject foam into the grid of a checkerboard about 6 feet into the center of the area in question.
The price and speed of repair offered by high density polyurethane has become a genuine market-driven product. However, if HVAC pipelines run across the ground since the foam could infiltrate and block them, consumers must remain cautious. Plumbing tests are also necessary before foam injections, so as to ensure the supply or drainage lines are not leaked.
Helical Pier
Helical piers function well for repairs to the outside foundation and the inside slab. For the new construction as well as for the repair method, helical piers are useful. The helical piers are suited to the light-charged areas like porch columns, or vinyl siding structures. The most versatile and unspent jet on the market are helical piers.
Segmented Piers
It's a relatively new industry product. Segmented piers are a repair product for price-driven foundations and have a low value.
Spot Piers
Spot piers, which are filled with concrete, are shallow, hand dug piers. They provide a great option in light-loaded areas like porches to repair foundations.
