How Does Smart Solution Work for Concrete Lifting?
A cost-benefit analysis of smart surface technologies for a few U.S. cities was recently published by Capital E, a renewable energy consulting and venture capital company. Smart Surfaces have a very clear analysis and prognosis, so keep an eye on the market for Smart Surface innovations.
Smart Surfaces are created to counteract the negative impacts brought by rain and sunlight where pavement absorbs solar heat and traps at street level, resulting in "urban heat islands." Asphalt and concrete are impervious surfaces that lead to storm water runoff, and flooding. Since this is the latest concrete trend, for concrete lifting this is relevant too.
Pervious concrete and rain gardens are examples of Smart Surface or Solutions allow rainwater filtering to the ground than flowing across the surface. Green roofs, solar panels, and reflective and permeable pavement are among the other features.
Smart surface strategies have numerous benefits, including improved health, protection, and comfort. Furthermore, these policies are expected to increase job creation, reduce global warming, and provide cities with billions of dollars in economic benefits.
Another industry standard that is expected to rise in the coming years is "resiliency." The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), a pioneer in the construction industry, is preparing to implement a Resilient-Design Standard for Buildings and Neighborhoods, particularly in light of the increasing number and magnitude of natural disasters (RELi).
“The increasing frequency of dramatic events has brought an even greater urgency to create buildings and communities that are better adapted to a changing climate and better able to bounce back from disturbances and interruptions,” said Mahesh Ramanujam, President and CEO of the USGBC, in a recent press release.
Increased energy and health-care prices are costing billions as a result of increasingly rising temperatures. To address these developments, the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and 21 other organizations have developed the Smart Surfaces Coalition, a network of experts assisting cities in quickly adopting cost-effective climate-change solutions. "Smart surfaces" boost storm water management by reducing the amount of hot air and radiation reflected back into the atmosphere. Among the possibilities are:
Cool roofs and pavements reflect more than absorbing sunshine, lowering temperatures and reducing smog.
Roofs that reflect light or that are green.
Shade-giving trees that also help to minimize flood risk.
Solar PV transforms sunlight into energy while still providing shade.
Smart surface technologies generate savings as it promotes lower energy and water bills, health costs, less water treatment, and infrastructure costs. The manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of smart surfaces, many of which are labor-intensive, would also result in new jobs.
